There are presently 27 Districts in Assam. The Total population of the Assam is 31.21 Million.
As per Districts Census 2011, the most populated district in Assam is Nagaon with a population of 2.82 Million where as the least populated district is Dima Hasao with a population of 214,102.
As per The 2011 census of Assam Districts, Kamrup Metropolitan is the highest literate district with 89% of literacy rate where as Dhubri is the least literate district with a literacy rate of 58%.
The census 2011 of Assam Districts also shows that Baksa District represents the highest sex ratio with 974 females per 1000 males while Dima Hasao District features the lowest sex ratio in India with just 932 women per 1000 males
